Elderly patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis have a high risk of in-hospital mortality. Every year about 30% of patients are refused surgical treatment. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a mandatory for these patients. From 2014 to 2016 17 operations of transcatheter aortic valve implantation performed at the Cardiovascular Surgery Center of the Federal Government State-owned Institution "Main Military Clinical Hospital named after academician N.N. Burdenko »Russian Defense Ministry. TAVI is an effective and safe treatment of choice for high-risk patients with severe aortic stenosis.
