The article reviews some Russian historical songs about a hero imprisoned in a dungeon. It is shown that with general convention and stereotype of the songs about the captive Chernyshev, in two of them the historical basis of the plot is fixed quite clearly. It is also shown that with all the plot and fiction differences of these songs, one can see some plot, lexic and phraseological continualization: the location of the dungeon is precisely indicated, locks are described, extreme poverty of the dungeon’s “interior” is described, the fact of the conclusion of the hero, the time of his stay in the dungeon, and his serious condition are stated in rather detailed and complete manner. The conversation between the prisoner and the Turkish sultan or the Prussian king during which the fate of the prisoner must be decided, is described. The concepts of plot and lexical isomorphism and autonomous fabled details are introduced. The plot formula “standing / standing here + characteristic detail + sitting” and, with the involvement of Ukrainian thoughts, motives of captivity for constraint / connectedness was considered.
