The work is supposed to consider church ceremonies in St. Petersburg, which were attended by Peter I. Initially, they took place in the Peter and Paul Cathedral, and after 1712 (when the reconstruction of the cathedral began) — in the Trinity Cathedral. The main purpose of the article is to highlight the main holidays, trace the development of the ceremonial, and also consider the behavior of the king at these ceremonies. In those cases when Peter I was in St. Petersburg, he invariably attended church ceremonies, which were part of the victorious, church, and also secular holidays. The first included the ceremonies of the victories of Russian troops in the battles of the Northern War, as well as the anniversaries of the most significant victories (near Poltava, Lesnaya, Gangut). Religious holidays were annual — Christmas, Epiphany and Easter. And of the secular, the most significant in his reign was the celebration of the new year on January 1. Moreover, it is known from the notes of foreign diplomats of that time that Peter I not only attended these ceremonies, but also took an active part in them himself.
