The artist Vladimir Alexandrovich Igoshev entered the history of Russian fine art in the second half of the 20th century as the creator of the "northern cycle". However, the "working topic" related to the realities of the Urals has not yet received independent and holistic consideration in the context of modern research. The purpose of this article is to conduct an art criticism analysis of V.A. Igoshev's paintings of the 1950s and 1960s related to the topic of industrial development of the largest region of the Urals - the Sverdlovsk region.
