Written embodiment of administrative discourse: official, memoranda, explanatory notes

The written administrative discourse is studied in the article. It is understood as an institutional discourse with written fixations of oral communications. The author describes the types of different genres employed in “official”, “memoranda” and “explanatory” notes. Distinctive genre features of the narrative in focus are concerned from the stand point of its content, and its linguistic, graphical, compositional, and stylistic design. The conclusions made by the author regarding the structure and the content of these genres suggest that, despite the fact that written communication is highly regulated and standardized, it is impossible to underestimate its significance in the integrated studies of administrative discourse. The undertaken approach helped us to understand the dynamic nature of the texts’ creation process. The present study is of high practical significance. The obtained research results can be used as special guidelines in the process of professional competency development of both managers and their subordinates.
