The article is based on the publication of a letter from the founder of the Local History Museum of Vesyegonsk A.A. Vinogradov to professor, senior researcher of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR A.I. Yakovlev. The letter contains historical information concerning Novgorod, Vesyegonsk, Vologda, as well as a number of geographical objects of the Tver region.
