Five years without the Federal Drug Control Service: reasons and consequences of its abolition

The consequences of the dissolution of the Federal Drug Control Service abolished by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 156 of April 5, 2016 are analyzed in the article. The authors examine the expediency of the dissolution of the Federal Drug Control Service, analyze the reasons for the decision taken by the country’s leaders, consider the consequences of transferring the functions of the Federal Drug Control Service to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation as well as the activity of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation at present.
