Platform business models in the oil and gas industry

In the current reality, many large companies are faced with the need to move from a traditional (linear) management model to an innovative platform business model. In this paper, the authors consider the essence of platform business models, which are becoming increasingly popular and relevant in the framework of company management in the modern world. The authors analyzed the basic principles and characteristics of the functioning of platform business models. The prerequisites for the transition from the traditional (linear) business model to the platform business model are studied. The main functions and tasks of the platform business model in the management of oil and gas companies in modern realities are revealed. The experience of gradual transition to a platform business model in the largest oil and gas companies is considered. The analysis of the relevance of the transition to a platform business model for companies in the oil and gas sector is carried out.
