Pleiotropy influence of high palmitic and high oleic mutations in oil on seed germination in sunflower

Бесплатный доступ

Pleiotropic effect of high oleic and high pamitic mutations in sunflower seed oil was investigated on the genetic base of VK580 near-isogenic lines. It was found that both of mutations had no influence on seed germination under controlled conditions within the temperature range of 10-25 °С, on greenhouse and field germination also. Germination rate showed small fluctuations in the length of plantlets due to genotype and temperature. High palmitic line BK850 increased plantlet length with lower number of lateral rootlets. At the stage of the first true leaves high palmitic mutation reduced plant height, cotyledon and leaf size, and aboveground biomass.
