This article reflects the main aspects of the principle of legality in the organization and implementation of local self-government, the article is analyzed in accordance with the regulatory and legal framework of the Russian Federation - constitutional aspects, federal acts, and other bylaws. A range of problems arising in the system of local self-government is considered, and ways to solve them are given.
