The authors analyzed thesis on the training and professional development of teaching staff in the Russian Federation. They paid particular attention to the following topics: the history of teacher education in various regions, the creation of regional models for teacher training, the role of universities in the staffing of state entities, the study of vocational and methodological training of subject teachers and educators for all levels of education, mastery of teachers by innovative technologies. It is determined that the issues of designing and forecasting the process of training teachers are not well understood. There are few works analyzing the educational potential of the province to predict changes in the demand for teaching staff.
