In this article the author examines the role of education in the modern world. The notion of an educational program and its importance in the educational institution. Particular attention is paid to the competitiveness of educational institutions. The authors propose to consider separately the competitiveness of the university and the competitiveness of the areas of training. It reflected the factors affecting the competitiveness of the university in general and the competitiveness of the areas of training.
