The article analyzes different approaches to teaching a foreign language grammar, their advantages and disadvantages. It reviews differences between explicit and implicit, deductive and inductive methods. The article studies difficulties in applying each of the methods and the problem of choice that a teacher may face. It also describes some factors that influence the choice of an approach for the specific classroom and the particular goals.
