Approaches to definition of region's investment potential

The article reviews definitions of "investment potential" category formulated by some Russian authors. It has been found that there are different approaches to the interpretation of this concept, depending on the subject, object, investment objectives. In particular, specific semantic content is included into the concept of "region's investment potential ", which can be considered as a part of the resource-based and goal-oriented approaches. The authors have found that the majority of Russian scholars dealing with investment issues tend to one of these approaches, however, there are works in which the region's investment potential is considered from integrated perspective.
