Approaches to improvement of the regional policy in the sphere of health protection

The significant differentiation of the socioeconomic situation in the RF subjects is indicative of significant regional differences in the conditions of demographic development. Analysis of the socio-economic indicators shows the existence of different models of health formation in various regions. Factor analysis of the socio-economic situation in the Russian regions with subsequent clustering based on 22 selected statistical indicators made it possible to obtain typology of the regions by the health status of population and socio-economic development, and to work out approaches to improvement of the policy in the sphere of health protection for each group of the RF subjects. The regions of the country are divided into four groups, and for each of them there are developed recommendations aimed at increasing life expectancy. There was also substantiated the necessity of acknowledging the problem of inequality in health at the federal level.
