The article presents materials and impressions of the author, he’s gotten during the scientific journey into the regions of Gansu Province that were the parts of Tangut state of Xi Xia in the IX–XIII centuries. Author also gives a translation of Liangzhou stele, the famous epigraphic monument of Tangut script.
