Absorption of laser pulses by ellipsoidal ITO nanoparticles in various matrices depending on the pulse duration

Absorption probability of femtosecond laser pulses with linear polarization by ellipsoidal indium tin oxide (ITO) nanoparticles as a function of the pulse duration is considered for the whole pulse action. The calculation is carried out for a corrected Gaussian pulse and various values of the dielectrical permittivity of the matrix. Various orientations of the electric field strength vector in a pulse relative to the principal axes of an ellipsoidal nanoparticle are considered. It is shown that the dependence of the absorption probability on the pulse duration has a maximum for carrier frequencies lower than the plasmon resonance frequencies.
