Maikop grave from the sinyukha burial ground: results of stable isotope study

The paper provides results of a comprehensive geochemical study of Maikopculture representative buried in the Sinyukha burial ground in Adygea. Strontium isotopicvariations suggest that the buried woman had been born in the area where she was laterburied. It is confirmed by data on stable nitrogen and carbon isotopes, which show thatterrestrial С3 plants growing in a temperate climate as well as meat/milk of the herbivorepredominated in the diet of this individual. 14C dating attributes this grave, which is datedto the early fourth quarter of the 4th mill.
