His paper publishes multiple grave 79 from the first half of the 7th century BC at the Zayukovo-3 cemetery. The grave contained remains of three individuals. The grave goods comprised a crossshaped pendant, pendants shaped as a drop and a ram head as well as a ceramic cup. Such grave goods in the western Koban archaeological culture are characteristic of the Cimmerian period (end of the 8th - first half of the 7thcenturies BC). However, some funerary goods are typical for a later period of Scythian military campaigns in the Trans-Caucasus. These are transparent green and small opaque white beads. Of particular interest are four armor plates that have no analogies among protective gear in eastern Europe either in the Cimmerian or Scythian periods. Therefore, grave 79 is a complex that serves as a marker of the transition from the classical period to the later period of the western Koban archaeological culture.
