Performance indicators of agricultural policy of food security in the Southern federal district

Food security is a key issue in the national security of Russia. The article analyzes the food security of the Southern Federal District. Indicators of the economic and physical access to food for the population are considered. The author analyzes indices of agricultural production in the Southern Federal District in 2009-2011, economic access to food for the population of the Southern Federal District is assessed on the basis of the analysis of the consumer price index for food, consumption of food, and the dynamics of per capita income.
