Indicators of the market environment in the forecasting of electricity consumption

The article is devoted to the issues of forecasting of factors of the market environment for further use by subjects of the wholesale electricity market in forecasting the planned hourly electricity consumption. The authors have examined the correlation of time indices of market prices for a day ahead and the balancing market using the example of a real market entity in the period from 2010 to 2012. According to the survey, the authors compiled a table of decision-making concerning the measurement of price correspondence in the forecast diagram of electricity consumption for workdays and weekends. The article contains an example of the use of research results at the forecast diagram of power consumption. The results enable to improve the energy consumption forecasting, based on the consideration of not only factors determining the demand for electricity, but also factors regarding the trends of wholesale market.
