В статье представлен аналитический обзор результатов эмпирических исследования зарубежных и отечественных психологов гендерных характеристик отношения человека к собственной смерти. Рассмотрены методические основания подобных исследований и отмечена их ограниченность методами «самоотчета» и «поперечных срезов». Показано, что данные о связях индивидуальных установок по отношению к собственной смерти с факторами пола противоречивы и указывают на наличие разного рода модерирующих факторов (культурного контекста, паттернов социализации, состояния здоровья, личностных черт и т.д.). Обобщены интерпретационные тенденции в анализе накопленной эмпирики.
