Field research of Paleolithic Darvagchai-bay-1 site in the 2014

This article presents the results of recent studies of Darvagchay-zaliv-1, one of the the Middle Paleolithic complexes. Artifacts of site are key material to understanding the development of the extensive cultural and chronological range for the North-East Caucasus. Lithological study of paleosol contained the archaeological materials, allowed to include this complex in general picture of regional paleogeography. Riss-Wurm interglacial oxygen isotope stage 5e defines the chronological period of the ancient people existence in the region. Stone tools are characterized by Levallois technique of splitting and typical the Middle Paleolithic tool kit.
