Polycode of art history discourse

The article deals with the polycode art history discourse particularities, in which, despite the cohesion of verbal and visual elements, the verbal language is the main determinant. Although the art history discourse even without visual support retains its information value, however, it lacks the depth of perception. Polycode art history discourse is considered to be an indirect communication system of the people, separated by centuries whose medium is an art historian.
