The paper presents the data on CYP1A1, GSTT1, GSTM1 and GSTP1 genetic polymorphisms in gastric cancer patients. Variant genotypes of CYP1A1 gene and glutathione-S-transferase genes (GSTM1 and GSTP1) were more frequently revealed in gastric cancer patients compared to healthy subjects, thus indicating the increased risk for gastric cancer in carriers of these genotypes. A higher frequency of variant genotypes and alleles of GSTM1 and GSTT1 genes among gastric cancer patients with lymph node metastases compared to metastases free patients indicates that these polymorphisms can promote the disease progression
