Multipolar of the world and of the language of diplomatic communication

The In this article the attempt to combine the results of the linguistic analysis of the texts devoted to diplomatic communication (lexical peculiarities) with the practice of teaching English to the students who major in diplomacy has been made. The author of the article focuses on the developments in diplomatic communication in advanced industrial democracies existing within the framework of the multipolar and multicivilizational world. The main emphasis has been placed on the fact that diplomatic communication incorporates the use of sophisticated knowledge of such attributes of human behaviour as attitude and preference structures, cultural tendencies, and media-use patterns which play an essential role in shaping messages targeted at maximizing their desired impact and minimizing undesired collateral effects.
