The article examines the political aspects of government-business interaction in resource-based regions of Russia, using Kuzbass as a case study. The authors analyze key models of this interaction, including corporatism, clientelism, and informal practices, as well as their impact on the formation of regional political regimes. Special attention is paid to conflicts of interest, the role of large corporations in decision-making, and the consequences of the «resource curse» for socio-economic development. Through the case study of the SDS Holding and changes in regional leadership, the paper explores the mechanisms of lobbying, corporate raiding, and the transformation of business-state relations. The conclusion proposes measures to enhance transparency and reduce corruption risks.
