Political framework of digital citizenship

The article presents an analysis of the political aspects of the concept of digital citizenship. The concept of digital citizenship is interpreted as the ability to participate in society in the conditions of technological transformation, to use political and economic opportunities. The author considers the scale of digital citizenship, the concept of organization of the digital order, changes in the forms of political participation of citizens under the influence of digital communications. Digital communications contribute to a wider variety of civic participation. The article identifies the open opportunities for citizen participation in e-democracy in the context of the transition from representative democracy to direct one.
