The phenomenon of post-truth is one of the topical issues of modern political science. With the development of digital technologies, not only the media environment has changed, but also the mechanism of political communication itself. In these conditions, the question arises of how post-truth transforms democratic institutions and what threats this poses to the political system. Political technologies are strongly influenced by the digitalization process, so understanding the mechanisms of their use in the post-truth era has significant theoretical and practical significance. The aim of this article is to study the mechanisms of interaction between post-truth tools and political technologies. Examples from the political life of Western states are examined, demonstrating the variety of strategies employed to influence public opinion. It is ephasized that the means characteristic of the post-truth era (manipulation, fake news) have a significant impact on political technologies. Recommendations are offered for developing measures to counter disinformation, and the importance of media literacy for the political system of society is emphasized.
