Policy of the tsarist government against non-orthodox faiths in XVIII-XIX centuries

The paper considers the problem of interethnic and interfaith relations in Russia in the XVIII-XIX centuries. Policy of Catherine II concerning religious persecution and forced conversion of Muslims to Orthodoxy by her predecessors changed into the political toleration in the XVIII century becoming one of the principles of state formation.
