This article examines the contemporary neocolonial policy of the Italian Republic toward North African countries. The object of the study is the complex foreign policy and economic relations between Italy and the states of the region. The aim of the work is to uncover the mechanisms and instruments that allow Rome to reproduce asymmetrical dependency relationships under the guise of partnership. The primary focus is on analyzing strategic instruments such as establishing privileged ties with local ruling groups, exploiting the migration crisis for foreign policy pressure, and combining economic investment, political influence, and cultural penetration. The study utilized methods of comparative analysis, discourse analysis of political statements and official documents, and statistical data on economic interactions. The result is a systematization of contemporary neocolonial practices in the Italian Republic, demonstrating how control over key economic sectors and the formation of institutional dependency ensure long-term influence while formally preserving the sovereignty of North African states. The scientific novelty of the article lies in its comprehensive approach to the analysis of Italian neocolonial policy, which combines the consideration of economic, political and migration aspects into a single system.
