This article is devoted to an orphanhood problem in the USSR after the termination of the Great Patriotic War. The problem of an orphanhood was very urgent because of big losses of adult population on fields battle and in occupation. War gave to the country the whole generation of the children of lost one parent or who completely lost a full-fledged complete family and got on complete providing the state.
