The article discusses the political and ideological work of power structures of the USSR aimed to encourage demobilized soldiers to relocate to the Far East of the USSR for the purpose of socio-economic and militarypolitical consolidation of the region in the early 1930-s. The author analyzes the causes, the main areas and the process of propaganda and political-ideological work among the demobilized Red Army soldiers. The paper considers the achievements and shortcomings of the political-ideological work by studying the statements of immigrants, representatives of power structures, and old-timers.
