The Political and Legal Nature of the Principles of Criminal Procedure

The article examines the political and legal nature of the principles of criminal procedure. The fight against crime presupposes a unified criminal policy of the Russian Federation, and criminal procedure policy is one of its constituent elements, where the principles of criminal procedure act as the value (ideological) basis of criminal procedure activity. The author’s definition of the state’s criminal procedural policy is also provided. The article is based on the report presented at the International Scientific and Practical Conference «New Challenges and Opportunities of Modern Legal Science: Development Trends»: section of criminal law disciplines.
