The article studies politically correct and incorrect discourse in the sphere of interethnic relations. We substantiate the idea that political incorrectness is a reaction to the dictates of political correctness considered by us as a dominant ideology. This ideology gives the appearance of a fictitious possible world, which embodies absence of social conflicts and harmony in the liberal, multicultural Western society experiencing social and interethnic problems. An analysis of the discourse in the sphere of interethnic relations revealed that political correctness and incorrectness rests on the most important opposition of the society "IFF = identification friend or foe", the opposing members of which are treated as relative concepts. The article shows that the French media use manipulative discursive strategies of upward, having applied politically correct notations, and downward - appealing to politically incorrect language expressions.
