Various groups of patients with leg bone fractures have been examined in the process of treatment according to Hizarov using the methods of polarography with open needle sensors and those of transcutaneous polarography The rates of capillary circulation and oxygen utilization in tissues have been found to decrease as far as injury severity increases for closed spiral fractures. The values of muscular elasticity, leg volumetric circulation rate and the oxygen tension in tissues increase for closed spiral fractures with displacement of fragments below 75% of bone diameter, and these values decrease for such fractures with greater displacement, as well as for comminuted and open fractures
