The concept and social danger of the person committing crimes related with drugs

The article defines the identity of the perpetrators committing crimes related to drugs. The authors pay more attention to a correct use of this term than to the term «personality of an offender». Special attention is drawn to the characteristic of public danger of the specified person. The authors note that the social danger of such personality consists both in its harmfulness (the possibility of this person committing new drug-related crimes) and in its precedent (in the real possibility of prolongation of this person’s existence in the social role of the offender resulting in the commission of a new crime). It is stated that the social danger of this person derives first and foremost from the moral-psychological personal characteristics (asocial setting, antisocial orientation, defects of legal consciousness).
