The concept and structure of the material culture of education

Education is one of the forms of spiritual culture, the most important social institution, the importance of which in social development is difficult to overestimate. Considering this phenomenon in the historical aspect, researchers pay attention primarily to the genesis of theoretical approaches, principles, teaching methods, and teaching content. As a rule, the subject side of the pedagogical process remains outside of scientific interest -the material conditions without which its implementation would be impossible. This article is an attempt to solve this problem by defining the concept of material (material) culture of education, based on existing interpretations of related categories. The paper presents the structure of the phenomenon under consideration, the main components of which are: educational space, educational utensils, teaching aids, clothing and nutrition of students. Each of them individually and all of them together form the basis of the material side of education and contribute to understanding the specifics of the genesis of the phenomenon they represent as a whole.
