The concept of corruption as a social phenomenon

The article examines the trends in the historical development of the understanding of corruption as a social phenomenon, the concept of corruption, the history of corruption, the transformation of the concept of corruption to a modern form, its essence, signs and levels. This article also examines the attitude to corruption of the highest bodies of public administration and methods of combating it in different historical periods. The most prominent representatives of state power in different historical periods who openly and harshly fought against manifestations of corruption are described.
