Definition of «the soil desertification» and some approaches for it interpretation

Desertification has been defined in the text of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). At the same time one of the most important components of desert ecosystems ("land" within the meaning of the UNCCD) is the soil. Investigation of the role of soil in the phenomenon of desertification is one of the most promising directions in the study of the phenomenon of desertification. In this regard, is important to fix the place and role of soil in the phenomenon of desertification. Attempting to define the term of the soil desertification is the main task of this article.
