The concept of psychological health is considered from the point of view of the reference in activity of the practical psychologist. It is noted that each psychologist-practitioner should clarify his image, his understanding of psychological health, reflecting the theoretical and philosophical foundations of his own professional position. The author formulates his ideas about psychological health, based on the provisions of the existential approach, which is ideologically close to him, as well as the idea of Boris Bratus about the personality as an «organ» of becoming and self-realization of man. The prerequisite of psychological health is the authentic mode of existence. The movement towards the authenticity of life occurs through comprehension of one’s experience; development of the ability of listening to oneself (ability to develop skills of listening to oneself and one’s own subjectivity), the willingness to make a conscious independent choice. The psychological health of the individual will be manifested through her willingness to be responsible for her being, to take care of him, her ability, despite the anxiety and the need to make an effort, to translate the desired into life, receiving joy from it.
