The authors examine sobornost as a sociocultural phenomenon, a distinctive Russian phenomenon that has regained interest among the philosophical, religious, and academic communities. The relevance of this inquiry is underscored by the value crisis in modern society, which, against the backdrop of global globalization and geopolitical instability, compels us not only to contemplate the future but also to return to the foundational principles and bonds that can preserve the national, cultural, and state identity of the Russian people and Russian statehood. Sobornost is an integral part of Russian spiritual culture and the mentality of the Russian people. To understand the subject of this research, the authors pay particular attention to the theories and views of the following thinkers: A.S. Khomyakov, I.V. Kireyevsky, Yu.F. Samarin, V.S. Solovyov, S.N. Trubetskoy, L.P. Karsavin, N.O. Lossky, S.L. Frank, V.Ya. Ivanov, and G.P. Fedotov. In the course of the study, methods of analysis of literary, philosophical, and scientific sources were employed, along with comparative analysis, which facilitated the juxtaposition of various viewpoints on this issue. This comprehensive approach aims to elucidate the significance of sobornost in the context of Russian philosophical thought and its implications for modern societal challenges.
