The concept of "body education" or the need for priority of educational goals in physical education

Бесплатный доступ

The article presents a critical review of existing approaches to reforming physical education, which are characterized by reductionism or eclecticism. One of the signs of the reductionist approach is the uncritical use of the predicate "physical" in the concepts of "physical training", "physical education", etc. Reductionism is also found in the two models of education that still prevail in our country: Prussian and Anglo-American. In this paradigm, the birth of the idea of "sportization" of physical education, which comes into essential contradiction with the really pedagogical goals and objectives, is natural. In turn, the priority of pedagogical goals and a holistic understanding of the human being lead to the need to update the concept of "body education" both at the theoretical and practical levels.
