The concept of «quality» for analyzing the pot capacity

The paper offers a principally new approach to the solution of an importantmethodological issue, i.e. development of a unified scale for converting quantifyingcharacteristics of archaeological artifacts to qualitative concepts and ideas. It is basedon the assumption that such characteristics are objective and universal for all humans asdimensional parameters of the surrounding world are perceived and assessed by Homosapiens biological species roughly in the same manner. The issue is addressed by takingthe analysis of quantifying and qualitative characteristics of the clay pottery capacity asan example.
