In the article characteristics of the concept «love» are compared on the base of analysis of the meanings of the word in explanatory dictionaries and its interpretation at the philosophical level. The conceptual and imaginative characteristics of the concept «love» in the Russian (Synodal) translation of the Bible and in the Bible of King James are investigated.
