Cross section rigidity of round timber: experiment and numerical modeling

Materials of previously performed studies regarding definition of the contact forces of balance interaction in a debarking drum are presented. The balance is understood as a section of a tree trunk of standard length (1,2 m). The balance is used as a feedstock in the production of wood chips. The main attention is paid to the rigidity of the balance.
