Population dynamics of small mammals in the high-rise gradient of the Western Sayan mountains

Бесплатный доступ

Analysis of the red-backed vole population dynamics and distribution has been made on the basis of observations in the Western Sayan. All the territory populated by the red-backed vole is functionally divided into two belts according to a combination of population characteristics; these belts are as follows: the belt of optimal conditions for habitation and the belt of pessimal conditions. The population dynamics in both the belts are synchronous; that is why, the single population of the red-backed vole may be considered to inhabit all the territory investigated.
