The development of national economy of the USSR is closely connected with the name of Dmitry Konstantinovich Chudinov, professional revolu-tionary, the participant of a Bolshevist underground in Siberia in the years of Civil war, prominent business executive and the scientist, dealing with agriculture. D.K. Chudinov is the author of a number of works concerning the development of national economy of the country. In the present study an attempt to characterize D.K. Chudinov's views of collectivization problems is made. This analysis leads the authors to conclusions that during mass collec-tivization peasantry in specific conditions of Siberia gave preference to co-operative forms of managing as it was equitable to their private ownership interests. And Chudinov did not deny the possibility of transition of Siberian peasants to collective managing in the nearest future. Even such moderate approach to the problem of cooperation of peasantry caused serious criti-cism from the party and economic management at all levels. D.K. Chudinov was accused of ignoring "the general line of the party" and the attempts to slow down the collectivization course in Siberia. He was removed from the leading posts, expelled from the party, then arrested and shot. He was reha-bilitated only in 20 years after his death. Now his works continue to remain demanded by historians and experts in the field of agriculture.
