Let's take a seat before leaving: transit practices of waiting

The article deals with the problem of transit spaces in modern cities, specifically, the practices of waiting at railway stations and airports. The paper analyzes the cultural discourse of such practices through the investigation of their spatial, temporal and social codes. The author arrives at a conclusion that transit places are anthropologically underdeveloped.
