The article analyzes problematic issues related to the development of the Russian automotive market in connection with the sanctions imposed. The current situation in this area has been studied, and the impact of the imposed restrictions on the labor market in the domestic automotive industry and consumer behavior has been determined. The main human resource issues have been revealed: insufficient growth of employees' incomes taking into account the inflation rate, a decrease in job-seeking activity in the automotive business due to insufficient stability of the industry, significant staff reductions due to the closure or suspension of car factories, and staffing issues in the existing automotive enterprises. It is concluded that in order to solve existing social issues, the most promising directions of activity can be creation of own IT schools to train personnel for the domestic automotive industry; reorientation towards the production of low-cost and simple models that would meet the basic needs of citizens in terms of technical characteristics; active cooperation of automakers, recruitment agencies and potential employees to ensure stable and decent working conditions.
